¡Buenos días a todos! Is it Thanksgiving yet? It feels like it should be. Regardless, onwards we go.
Although tropical storm Eta weakened from a Hurricane early yesterday morning, it still has sustained winds of over 70mph and is set to hit the coast of Florida sometime today. With Eta set to hit during high tide instead of low tide, the water levels will strengthen the storm surge as opposed to weakening it as was originally predicted as it marches towards the coastline between Anna Maria Island to Tampa Bay. Officials warned local residents to stay alert, and not let down their guard.
In China, singles got so fed up with having to deal with Valentine’s day that they made the perfect counter- “Singles Day”. This event is an online shopping bonanza that raked in an eye raising $75.1 billion dollars for Alibaba, the Chinese Google equivalent. But this wasn’t just a shopping event- it was a live stream event that began with Katy Perry performing. We tried to come up with a clever comment here, but just wow.
The stress of the election drove Americans to the traditional vices- cigarettes, booze, and new on the scene (at least legally) was weed, specifically edibles. As marijuana has become legal in increasingly more states, many Americans have discovered the calming side effects of edibles. In the last couple of weeks, edible producers such as Equilibria, have said sales have increased by as much as 40%. Zoinks Scoob!
As some of you may remember, back in August, President Trump issued a statement saying that TikTok would be banned unless they exited the US or divested their company to a US based firm. Well, that deadline proposed in August is actually today, and it appears the government may have forgotten as the original deal (where Walmart and Oracle would be investors) still has yet to happen. Bytedance, the parent company of TikTok, has filed a lawsuit asking for clarity on the legality, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

USA Today conducted a very scientific study on the most famous dogs of all time. We personally think Uga the bulldog got snubbed, but you can’t win them all.
